Pivotal Supervision

Developing Confident, Ethical Clinicians

Supervision That Helps You Grow

Becoming a confident clinician takes more than completing required supervision hours. It takes a space where you can ask questions, strengthen your clinical judgment, work through challenging cases, and develop confidence in who you are as a counselor.

At Pivotal Supervision, supervision is designed to support your clinical growth, ethical development, professional identity, and preparation for independent practice while meeting the supervision requirements established by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors.

My Approach to Supervision

Supervision should be a space for both support and challenge. My approach is collaborative, developmental, and tailored to where you are in your growth as a clinician.

Using the Integrated Developmental Model (IDM) as a foundation, supervision evolves as your skills, confidence, and professional identity develop. Together, we examine your clinical work, strengthen your decision-making, identify areas for continued growth, and help you become increasingly confident and independent in your practice.

My role is not simply to tell you what to do. It is to help you think critically, practice ethically, trust your developing clinical judgment, and grow into the counselor you are becoming.

What You Can Expect in Supervision

  • Case Review & Conceptualization:  Work through current cases and strengthen how you understand client needs.

  • Assessment, Diagnosis & Treatment Planning: Build confidence connecting clinical information to appropriate diagnoses, goals, and interventions.

  • Clinical Skill Development: Explore interventions, therapeutic approaches, and ways to respond when treatment feels stuck.

  • Ethics & Documentation: Navigate ethical dilemmas, boundaries, documentation, and professional responsibilities.

  • Professional Development: Discuss confidence, counselor identity, workplace challenges, self-awareness, and continued growth.

  • Support + Accountability:  Receive honest feedback, encouragement, and appropriate challenge as you progress toward independent licensure.

Supervision is individualized to your developmental level, clinical setting, caseload, and professional goals.

What You'll Develop

  • Clinical Confidence: Strengthen your ability to assess cases, make clinical decisions, and trust your professional judgment.

  • Case Conceptualization: Learn to look beyond symptoms and develop a clearer understanding of the whole client.

  • Treatment Planning & Intervention Skills: Connect assessment, diagnosis, goals, and interventions more intentionally.

  • Ethical Decision-Making: Build confidence navigating boundaries, documentation, ethical concerns, and complex clinical situations.

  • Professional Identity: Develop your own voice and identity as a counselor rather than simply learning to “do therapy.”

  • Readiness for Independent Practice: Grow toward practicing with greater autonomy, competence, and confidence.

Supervision Rates

  • Individual Clinical Supervision: $85/hour

One-on-one clinical supervision tailored to your developmental level, caseload, and professional goals.
